Neal has been a student of martial arts since June of 1968.  He earned the rank of 10th Degree Black Belt, thus earning the title “Professor.”  Neal founded Nova Defense Systems Kenpo Karate in 1981.  Through the years, he has instructed thousands of students with care and support. Having been the DARE officer for 20+ years, as well as a law enforcement professional, Neal is passionate about teaching martial arts in a way that can be practically applied.  He also strongly believes in developing the character and aptitude of each student to the best of their ability.
